It's a green tektite, natural glass formed about 15 million years ago when a massive meteorite struck what's now the Czech Republic, and it's found nowhere else on earth. People prize it for one thing above all: intensity. Moldavite is famous for accelerating transformation, sometimes dramatically. Many people feel it the moment they hold it, a rush of heat or energy folks call "the moldavite flush."
This is not a gentle, cozy stone, and I say that as a caution as much as a recommendation.
