As we approach the new year, I wanted to take a moment to share something deeply personal with you—something that’s been a journey of self-discovery and acceptance for me as both a solitary witch and the curator of The Healing Hedge Witch community. It’s about the New Moon and Full Moon gatherings and why you haven’t seen them on the calendar for 2025 yet.
A Moment of Realization
For a while now, I’ve felt a disconnect. I was hosting these beautiful gatherings, spaces I poured my heart into, but when the time came to step into the circle myself, something felt… off. I love creating these spaces for others—designing them, dreaming them into existence, and ensuring they are full of warmth, intention, and magic. But I found myself dreading actually attending the events.
At first, I thought something was wrong with me. Why didn’t I want to show up for the community I worked so hard to nurture? Why didn’t I feel the pull to be in the spaces I lovingly crafted? I beat myself up for not wanting to be "all in" for the gatherings.
But then, I had an A-HA moment.
I realized that my path as a solitary witch, the way I practice and connect with magic, was never meant to shift entirely into community spaces. My magic thrives in solitude. My calling isn’t to be in the circle but to create the circle, to hold the space for others to gather and weave their own magic. My work is from behind the veil—not as a constant participant, but as the quiet architect who curates the framework for connection, transformation, and celebration.
A New Chapter for Our Gatherings
This realization has helped me understand why I’ve hesitated to schedule the New Moon and Full Moon gatherings for 2025. It’s not because I don’t value them—I absolutely do. It’s because I now see that these gatherings need to evolve in alignment with my truth. And as The Potionary prepares to open its doors, I feel that this is the perfect time for that evolution to happen.
Here’s what this shift will look like:
- No Gatherings Until The Potionary Opens: We won’t be hosting New Moon or Full Moon gatherings until The Potionary is ready to welcome the community. This will allow me to focus on curating the space and experience without stretching myself too thin or losing touch with my own practice.
- Guest Hosts and Shared Leadership: Once The Potionary opens, these gatherings will look a little different. My vision is to invite guest hosts to lead them—practitioners who are passionate about facilitating community circles and sharing their own magic. This way, I can honor my role as the space-curator and still provide the Hedge Witch community with opportunities to gather under the moonlight.
- Rooting into My Role as a Guide Behind the Scenes: My job isn’t to lead every circle but to ensure that the spaces I create are intentional, magical, and supportive for those who wish to gather. This shift will allow me to protect my energy, honor my path, and give others the opportunity to step forward as leaders within the community.
Embracing My Role Behind the Veil
I share this with you not only to explain what’s happening with the gatherings but also to show that it’s okay to honor your truth, even when it feels like it goes against expectations. I’m learning that being a solitary witch and a community curator aren’t contradictory—they’re complementary. My magic lies in weaving the web of connection, even if I’m not always a thread within it.
If you’ve ever felt like you weren’t showing up in the “right” way, know this: Sometimes the best way to serve is by holding space for others to shine. That’s the lesson I’ve learned, and it’s the intention I’ll carry into this next chapter for The Healing Hedge Witch and The Potionary.
